"Let It Go" by Fishing With Dynamite (Country Artist from Georgia (GA))

Charlie Daniels once said "The South's Gonna Do it Again" and it very much has with the recently released CD, "Let it Go" by the country rock group Fishing With Dynamite. The Southern Rock genre has had a gaping hole in it every since the tragic lost of Lynyrd Skynyrd's front man Ronnie Van Zant, but Fishing With Dynamite is gladly taking the reins of contemporary southern-fused rock. Give "Gone and Faded" a good listen and you'll know exactly what we mean. The band oozes Charlie Daniels with the use of violin as the primary solo instrument and kicks it up a notch with the rocking vibes of the band, The Outlaws. They also tone it down a bit and play some heartfelt country tunes on songs like "For Granted" and "Hank, I Hope You Were Right." Also, be sure to listen to the excellent slide guitar work on "Backwoods Man." Any fan of Charlie Daniels or Toby Keith will love "Let it Go" as this disc is filled with good old country rock.

"Take My Soul" by Shak (World/New Age Artist from Washington (WA))

Instrumentalist and songwriter, Shak, has written a very unique love story on his latest album, "Take My Soul." Although it is all instrumental, Shak does an excellent job depicting a couple's blossoming and sometimes tumultuous relationship through song. Listen to "A New Dawn," a track which screams of hope and curiosity, much like any new relationship. Along the way, the couple goes through extreme highs and lows, all documented through the creative mind of Shak. Sometimes the couple's relationship is doing well as heard on "Close to My Heart" and sometimes not, which "I Am Sorry" clearly portrays. Shak does an outstanding job composing his well written emotional feelings through melody and instrumentation about what most average couples all go through. If you are looking for a really interesting CD and you love instrumentals, then you won't be disappointed when you listen to "Take My Soul."

"Never Give Up" by Cuba Gooding (Urban/Soul Artist from New York City, New York (NY))

Former lead singer of the Main Ingredient, Cuba Gooding, unveiled his stunning single "Never Give Up" at the 2009 presidential inauguration. This spectacular single is not only inspirational but should be considered poetry in musical motion. The lyrics are uplifting and soar straight to the heart. Gooding's vocals are exceptional as they are strong and project emotional expression with an excellent range. There is also some solid support from the orchestra as the violins sustain a sweet touch while the piano maintains nice chord progressions. "Never Give Up" is a magnificent anthem of encouragement and confidence with memorable lyrics of faith and hope.

RadioIndy is pleased to present John Neville with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Bird Songs of the North American Prairie"

RadioIndy is pleased to present John Neville with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Bird Songs of the North American Prairie"

Nature recorder John Neville is at it again with "Bird Songs of the North American Prairie," a 182-track double CD release that gives the listener the pleasure of hearing the calls of 168 birds and, as an added bonus, six mammals. Neville narrates over each of his live recordings, informing the listener about which bird they are hearing. This release, like his others, serves a wonderful, instructional, and informational purpose, especially for those interested in birdcalls and bird watching. "Bird Songs of the North American Prairie," is well-produced, and Neville's narrative dubs, as well as his initial live recordings are lively and distinct. "Cd1 Introduction" introduces the release with Neville informing the listener that he is spending sixteen weeks recording these birds, many of which are rare and nearing extinction. "Common Loon" displays the calming night chorus of the common loon on a lake. The majority of the other tracks are as straightforwardly approached, so if you're curious about one particular bird you can skip right to it. "Bird Songs of the North American Prairie" is a success, both as an instructional album and as an exploration of nature, and should be picked up by anyone interested in birdsongs and birdcalls.

"Happiness and Self-Esteem" by Rick Collingwood (Spoken Word Artist from Australia)

"Happiness and Self-Esteem" is an inspiring self-help CD brought to you by award-winning Australian hypno-therapist Rick Collingwood. This is the latest release from Rick, who has released over fifty self-help CDs and is highly regarded in his field. Right away you can feel your journey beginning as relaxing string pulses and ambient accents pave the way for Rick's instructions. Along the way you will be challenged to help yourself deal with the fears that put up roadblocks in your life while in a completely relaxed and hypnotic state. The album sounds great, as it must, in able to achieve it's goal, and Rick's voice has a great natural hypnotic quality. The album features an intro and then gets right into it without letting up with the single track simply titled "Hypnosis." Having one track for the whole program tells you that the process is likely effective but requires your commitment throughout. This is a bold move by Rick that tells you he is completely confident in his craft. If you are looking for a new way to learn about yourself through hypnosis, or are a fan of Mr. Collingwood's work, pick this one up.
